The federal government has approved contract appointments for two IT professionals in Pakistan Railways’ Information Technology Directorate. These appointments will run for three years under the Management Position (MP) Scales Policy, 2020.
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved both appointments in the MP-III Scale. The appointments will take effect from the date the officials join their roles.
Under this decision, Dr. Rabea Jaffery has been appointed as a software developer specializing in UI/UX design. Meanwhile, Mr. Basit Jamil Abbasi has been appointed as a software developer focusing on mobile application development.
These appointments are part of broader efforts to improve digital systems within Pakistan Railways. The goal is to strengthen its IT infrastructure and modernize internal operations. Moreover, the initiative is expected to support ongoing digital transformation plans. Pakistan Railways aims to build more user-friendly digital platforms and mobile applications.
These tools are designed to improve customer service and increase operational efficiency. In addition, better digital systems are expected to streamline daily railway operations.
Both professionals will serve under the terms and conditions defined in the MP Scales Policy, 2020. Their roles are contract-based and linked directly to the approved framework.
