PM to Launch Free Laptop Scheme for Karachi Students in December
Government spokesperson Raja Ansari has confirmed a major initiative for students in Karachi, highlighting that free laptops will soon be distributed under a federal program.
Ansari announced that the Prime Minister will formally launch the project this December at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam, where laptops will be handed over to students. He emphasized that the federal government is committed to providing facilities to Karachi residents while collaborating closely with the Sindh government to ensure the timely completion of projects.
In addition to the laptop scheme, Ansari revealed that the federal government is preparing to roll out 22 large-scale projects in Karachi, with a combined investment of 334 billion rupees. This announcement reflects a broader development agenda aimed at addressing the city’s infrastructure and technology needs.
Speaking about Karachi’s political climate, Ansari praised Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, describing him as a positive figure. He noted that even without strong representation in Sindh, the federal government is pressing ahead with major development efforts.
Ansari also emphasized collaboration over confrontation. He explained that the federal government wants to work hand in hand with the Sindh government and the Mayor of Karachi. Unlike parties such as Jamaat-e-Islami, he said, this effort is not about point-scoring but about ensuring cooperation for the city’s progress.
