The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced new rules regarding requests for changing examination centers, aiming to streamline the process for candidates while ensuring fairness and transparency.
According to PPSC Chairman Lt. Gen. (Retired) Muhammad Abdul Aziz, requests to change an exam center will be considered only under specific circumstances, including:
- Medical reasons
- Conflicts with other examination dates
- Marriage or death of a close relative
- Pregnancy or childbirth (for female candidates)
- Natural disasters or serious law and order situations
All requests must be supported by authentic and verifiable documentation and submitted at least seven days before the scheduled exam.
PPSC employees seeking a change will have their exam center fixed in Lahore. Decisions on applications will be communicated within three to five working days, based strictly on merit. The commission emphasized that no request will be processed without proper documentary proof, according to Secretary Afzal Ahmed.
The new policy comes after multiple exams were canceled due to floods, underscoring the need for a clear framework to manage examination disruptions and ensure candidates are treated fairly.
