The Pakistan Super League (PSL) will begin its 11th edition on March 26 at Gaddafi Stadium, where Lahore Qalandars will face tournament debutants Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen in the opening fixture.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer confirmed the details while addressing the media alongside Hamza Majeed and Gohar Shah during an official briefing about the upcoming season.
Salman Naseer said the opening match would be preceded by a grand opening ceremony and added that the marquee tournament would continue until May 3.
Naseer further revealed that the first leg of the upcoming season would largely be staged in Lahore, with the complete schedule expected to be unveiled later this week.
Recent media reports have suggested that the grand finale of the tournament could potentially be staged outside Pakistan to engage overseas supporters and expand its footprint.
When asked about the possibility of taking a PSL fixture abroad, Naseer confirmed that the proposal remains under discussion and under consideration by league organisers.
He said clarity would emerge once the full schedule is announced later this week, including whether any match will be held overseas this season.
PSL 11 promises unmatched entertainment with the league expanded to eight teams, increasing match variety, producing more competitive fixtures and deeper rivalries than any previous season.
The introduction of Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen and Sialkot Stallionz have increased fan interest and brings fresh team identities and strategies to the Pakistan Super League.
Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen selected Australian Marnus Labuschagne, while Sialkot Stallionz secured Steve Smith, adding world‑class batting firepower and star attraction to the talent pool.
Peshawar Zalmi will play PSL few matches in Peshawar for the first time at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, offering fans in the city its historic home games and electrifying local support.
Players such as Moeen Ali, Devon Conway and Aaron Hardie will feature this season after direct signings, expanding international star presence and adding exciting all‑round capabilities to franchise squads.
