Quetta Gladiators have confirmed the signing of West Indies pace bowler Alzarri Joseph as a direct replacement for Australian quick Spencer Johnson for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.
The franchise announced the roster change via its official social media accounts, stating that Johnson was unavailable due to personal reasons, prompting the recruitment of the Caribbean bowler.
The Caribbean speedster brings a strong T20I record to PSL, having claimed 62 wickets in 45 matches while maintaining an economy rate of 9.24 for his national team.
His international achievements include two four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul, highlighting his capability to make breakthroughs and impact matches in the shortest format of the game.
Joseph is already familiar with Pakistani conditions, having previously represented Peshawar Zalmi in the tenth edition of the tournament, where he took 12 wickets across eight matches.
During his time with the former champions, he maintained a commendable economy rate of 8.80, proving his effectiveness in local conditions and adding value to the Quetta bowling lineup.
The upcoming much-awaited edition is scheduled from March 26 to May 3, featuring eight teams including two new entrants, Pindiz and Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen.
The 39-day tournament will see 44 matches played across six venues, with defending champions Lahore Qalandars set to open against Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen at their home ground on March 26.
