Hyderabad Kingsmen confirmed that Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will join their squad for the Karachi leg of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026.
The announcement came directly from Kingsmen captain Marnus Labuschagne, who stated that Maxwell’s arrival will boost the performance of the newly added franchise.
Labuschagne added that the hard-hitter’s experience in franchise leagues such as IPL and BBL, as well as international cricket, provides leadership and composure in critical match moments.
The right-handed batter has played 130 T20I matches, scoring 2,897 runs with a batting average of 28.97 and a strike rate of 154.42, including five centuries and 12 half-centuries.
Maxwell has appeared in 503 T20 matches, scoring 10,986 runs with an average of 27.53 and a strike rate of 154.16, including eight centuries and 58 half-centuries.
Hyderabad Kingsmen suffered a heavy 69-run defeat as their batting lineup collapsed against Lahore Qalandars, managing only 130 runs in response to 199 set by opponents.
Labuschagne’s side failed to build partnerships, with only his 26 providing resistance, while Kingsmen’s other batters could not handle Qalandars’ disciplined bowling attack throughout the innings.
Hyderabad Kingsmen suffered their second consecutive PSL defeat, falling 40 runs short against Quetta Gladiators after posting only 134 runs in a chasing effort fraught with mistakes.
