ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), has taken decisive action against illegal internet sales and unauthorized telecommunications activities in Gilgit.
During the raid, authorities seized illegal internet devices and unauthorized SIMs used for unregistered telecommunication operations, PTA said in a statement. Several individuals involved in the illicit trade were detained for further investigation.
The FIA has initiated an inquiry into the matter, emphasizing the risk such unauthorized activities pose to cybersecurity and national security. PTA has reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating illegal telecom practices to ensure a safe and regulated digital environment in Pakistan.
PTA has urged the public to report any suspicious telecom activity and use only registered internet and telecommunication services to avoid legal repercussions.
