Pta Officers Salaries And Allowances See Major Increase Over Three Years

ISLAMABAD: The salaries and allowances of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) officers have risen steadily over the past three years, according to official records seen by TechJuice.

For the fiscal year 2023-24, SEG-1 (BS-20) officers now earn Rs3.36 million in salary and Rs3.54 million in allowances, compared to Rs2.27 million and Rs2.41 million, respectively, in 2021-22.

Officers in other grades, including EG-IV (BS-19), EG-III (BS-18), and EG-II (BS-17), have also received notable pay increases, with EG-II officers now earning Rs8.94 million in salary and Rs11.64 million in allowances.

PTA has clarified that no official vehicles or mobile allowances are provided to officers, keeping operational costs streamlined.

The sharp rise in PTA officers’ salaries highlights the growing trend of exorbitant pay increases for high-level government officials, even as Pakistan grapples with an ongoing economic and energy crisis.
