Pakistan’s broadband market saw a major development this week as PTCL Flash Fiber received two key awards from Ookla, recognizing it as the country’s Best Fixed Network for 2025 and Best ISP Gaming Experience for the second half of 2025. The recognition is based on nationwide user data collected through Speed test.
According to details shared on Wednesday, the awards were announced following an analysis of Ookla’s Speed test Connectivity Reports for Pakistan covering both halves of 2025. The data measured real-world internet usage, including speed, latency, and overall performance across different regions.
The Best Fixed Network award is considered one of Ookla’s most comprehensive honors. It evaluates several performance indicators such as download and upload speeds, response time, video streaming quality, and everyday web browsing. Based on these factors, PTCL Flash Fiber emerged as the top-performing fixed broadband service in the country for the full year.
Performance data from early 2025 showed PTCL Flash Fiber leading in speed across four regions of Pakistan. This lead expanded in the second half of the year, where the service ranked as the fastest provider in most regions, reflecting steady improvements and wider coverage.
The service also received the Best ISP Gaming Experience award for H2 2025. This category focuses on low latency and stable connections, two factors considered essential for online gaming. Ookla’s findings suggest that PTCL Flash Fiber’s network setup offered smoother gameplay and fewer disruptions compared to competitors during the period.
The awards come at a time when demand for reliable, high-speed internet is growing rapidly in Pakistan, driven by remote work, online education, streaming, and gaming. Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has been expanding its fiber network in major cities as part of broader efforts to improve digital infrastructure.
