Punjab’s nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education have officially announced the revised schedule for the 2026 Matric and Intermediate annual examinations, adjusting key dates due to the holy month of Ramadan. The updated timetable outlines new exam start dates, result announcements, and supplementary exam schedules across the province.
According to an official circular issued on Friday, the Matric (Class 9 and 10) examinations will now commence on March 27, 2026, instead of the earlier announced March 3 date. The decision was taken to facilitate students observing Ramadan. Matric results are scheduled to be announced on August 6.
The annual Intermediate examinations will begin on May 20, with results expected on September 23. Meanwhile, Class 9 results will be declared on September 2, while First Year (Part-I) results are set for August 22.
Punjab boards have also shared the timeline for supplementary examinations. Matric supplementary exams will start from October 6, with results expected on December 8. For Intermediate students, supplementary exams will commence on November 3, and results will be announced on January 12, 2027.
An official from the board stated,
“The revised schedule has been finalized after careful consideration to ensure students can appear in exams without academic or religious inconvenience.”
In previous years, Punjab boards have revised exam schedules to accommodate Ramadan and extreme weather conditions. Education authorities say uniform implementation across all boards aims to reduce confusion and provide clarity for students, parents, and institutions.
