Punjab CM Approves Cleanliness Initiative for Schoolchildren
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a cleanliness initiative for schoolchildren, following a citizen’s suggestion shared on social media. The move aims to instill better civic habits among young students across the province.
Under the newly approved cleanliness initiative, teachers in Punjab will remind students daily not to throw litter or wrappers on roads, in classrooms, or at home. Children will instead be encouraged to use dustbins. If no bin is available, students will be advised to keep a spare shopping bag to store wrappers or trash until proper disposal is possible.
As part of the initiative, class teachers will be required to repeat this reminder after every lesson, while school administrations will be tasked with ensuring campuses remain free of litter.
Supporters believe the cleanliness initiative approved by CM Punjab will grow into a province-wide movement for stronger civic responsibility. “When children hear this message every day, they will take it home and influence their families too. This is how real change begins,” said the citizen who proposed the idea.
He added that small, consistent steps like these can eventually lead to broader positive social habits found in developed nations, such as keeping streets clean, maintaining silence on public transport, and turning off mobile phones in trains.
