Punjab Enforces Strict New Documentation Rules for Teacher Transfers

In a major step to streamline and clean up the teacher transfer process, the Punjab School Education Department has introduced new mandatory documentation requirements, making the entire system more transparent and merit based. The department said the updated policy aims to curb misuse of hardship and medical categories, which previously saw frequent irregularities.

The department has now made it compulsory for teachers applying under hardship to submit NADRA verified original Family Registration Certificates (FRCs). In cases involving separation, an authenticated divorce certificate must be provided.
For applicants seeking transfers on medical grounds, the only acceptable medical document will be a certificate issued specifically by Services Hospital, ensuring uniformity and authenticity.

Officials added that widowed teachers will be required to submit an original death certificate to qualify under the widow category.

Strict Action for Fake Documents

Authorities emphasized that only genuine and verifiable documents will be entertained, and anyone found submitting forged papers will face strict disciplinary action, signalling the department’s intent to enforce transparency.

Aim of the New Policy

The School Education Department stated that the revised framework is designed to ensure fairness, eliminate manipulation, and bring long-term discipline to Punjab’s teacher placement system.
