Punjab Government Approves Purchase of 108 New Vehicles for Ministers and Officials

The Punjab government is set to expand its official fleet this year, planning to buy 108 new vehicles for ministers and senior bureaucrats at a total cost of Rs1.14 billion.

The provincial transport wing has submitted detailed recommendations, which have now received approval. The documents reveal that 28 vehicles alone will cost Rs300 million. This batch includes a Land Cruiser, two Haval H5s, five Grande Altis, 10 Toyota Altis, and 10 Toyota Yaris, designated for cabinet members.

In addition, the government will purchase two four-by-four bulletproof vehicles valued at Rs40 million. Authorities have confirmed that the acquisition of bulletproof vehicles has already been approved. Recommendations to buy 25 more cars for VIP security, costing Rs27 million, have also been accepted.

The documents further show that vehicles worth Rs530 million will be bought for the chief minister’s inspection team. Officials stated that the procurement process will move forward following the acceptance of these recommendations. The new purchases aim to strengthen the official vehicle fleet and ensure security and mobility for government officials.
