In a major move to boost educational standards, the Punjab government has unveiled a Rs. 100 million cash reward program for the top 100 performing schools across its 36 districts. Each selected institution will receive Rs. 1 million for showing exceptional results in academics and infrastructure.

The initiative aims to recognize excellence among both Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and Punjab Education Initiative Management Authority (PEIMA) schools, including those outsourced by the government. A third-party evaluation will determine the winners based on academic results, classroom conditions, and available facilities.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said,

“This incentive will encourage schools to perform better and invest in improving students’ learning environments.”

The rewarded funds can be utilized by school principals for the betterment of students and institutional development. Meanwhile, the third phase of the school outsourcing program has been temporarily paused for two months to allow stability in Phase 2 schools before further expansion.
