Punjab Govt Issues Warning On Fake Arms License Website

LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has uncovered a deceptive website that falsely claims to offer arms license services, misleading citizens into sharing personal details and making payments. Authorities have taken immediate steps to shut down the fraudulent operation and prevent further exploitation.

Reports indicate that the fake platform, named “Punjab Arms License Management Verification System” (www.palms.org.pk), is designed to imitate the official government website. By mimicking the legitimate Punjab arms license portal, the fraudulent site has been tricking individuals into believing it is an authorized service.

In response, the Home Department has formally requested the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Division to take urgent action against the scam. Investigations reveal that the fake website is hosted by GoDaddy.com USA, with its operators using multiple contact numbers and processing payments via Easypaisa accounts.

The Punjab government has clarified that its only official platform for arms license services is www.pal.nadra.gov.pk/pal/, and any other website claiming to offer similar services is unauthorized. The Home Department has urged authorities to not only block the fraudulent website but also track down those responsible for the deception.

Efforts are now underway to dismantle the operation and protect the public from falling victim to such scams.
