LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced the early disbursement of salaries and pensions for March 2025 to Muslim government employees and pensioners ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. The Finance Department issued an official notification confirming that payments will be made on March 26, 2025, instead of the usual month-end schedule.
According to the official directive, the decision aims to facilitate government employees and pensioners in preparing for Eid without financial constraints. The early payment follows Punjab Financial Rules, Volume-I, which allows advance disbursement on religious occasions.
The advance salaries will be credited to government employees and pensioners belonging to the Muslim community, ensuring they can meet their expenses for the festive period.
The Finance Department of Punjab has forwarded a copy of the notification to relevant authorities, including the Accountant General Punjab and District Accounts Officers, to ensure smooth implementation. State Bank of Pakistan, commercial banks, and other financial institutions have also been instructed to process the payments accordingly.
The move aligns with previous instances where the Punjab government has prioritized salary disbursement in advance of significant religious festivals to ease financial burdens on employees.
