Punjab’s industrial zones cleared 34 new enterprise applications in September, opening the way for more than Rs. 76 billion in potential investment and over 7,000 jobs across key manufacturing and processing sectors, the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) said.
The approved applications cover proposed projects in textiles, ceramics, chemicals, agricultural processing and engineering, with investors seeking land allocation and other pending regulatory approvals.
The approvals were processed through coordination among SIFC, the Punjab government, Punjab Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA), and industrial estate developers Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) and Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC).
SIFC has been working with provincial authorities and zone developers to clear pending applications, address delays in land allocation and facilitate regulatory approvals for businesses seeking to establish operations in Punjab’s Special Economic Zones.
The investment and employment figures represent potential projects and planned job creation, rather than confirmed spending or employment at this stage.
