The Punjab School Education Department has introduced new measures under its E-Transfer Policy, aiming to improve transparency and efficiency in the teacher transfer process.
As part of the revised policy, authorities have decided to conduct personal hearings for teachers who submit transfer requests on hardship grounds. The move is intended to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation of such cases.
To oversee the process, special scrutiny committees have been established. According to officials, separate committees will handle cases based on grade levels one for officers in Grade 17 and above, and another for employees up to Grade 16.
The Additional Secretary of the department will serve as the convener of both committees, while Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) from respective districts will be included as members to provide local-level input.
These committees will review each case individually and are required to submit their recommendations within 10 days.
Officials stated that following recent amendments to the E-Transfer Policy, all appeals will now go through formal hearings. The change is expected to enhance transparency and ensure faster, more effective decision-making in teacher transfers across the province.
