The Punjab School Education Department has directed all public and private schools across Punjab to install a “Pink Button” emergency alert system to enhance security in educational institutions amid the current security situation.
According to official guidelines issued on Thursday, the Pink Button system will act as an emergency alert mechanism, allowing schools to quickly notify authorities in case of any security threat or emergency.
Under the directive, all schools in the province are required to install the system, and both teachers and students must register on the platform to ensure it functions effectively during emergencies.
The department has also ordered strengthened security arrangements at educational institutions. Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of district education authorities have been instructed to ensure that the Pink Button system is activated as soon as possible.
Officials stated that the initiative aims to improve safety measures and enable a faster emergency response in schools across the province.
The education department has also warned that strict action will be taken against schools that fail to comply with the government’s instructions regarding the installation and activation of the system.
