The Punjab Traffic Police has issued over 5.5 million driving licences across the province in the past 100 days, highlighting a major surge in licensing activity.
According to officials, more than 2.2 million learner’s licences and 147,000 regular licences were issued during this period. In addition, over 186,000 citizens renewed their learner, regular, and international licences, while around 8,700 duplicate licences were processed.
The department also issued more than 13,700 international driving permits.
A significant number of applicants over 2.14 million used online licensing services, reflecting growing adoption of digital systems and improved accessibility for citizens.
Authorities say the increased use of online platforms has helped streamline the licensing process and reduce in-person visits.
