Punjab Launches Digital App to Empower Citizens With Disabilities

The Punjab government has launched a new digital platform, the Assistive Devices & Wheelchair (ADWC) app, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Digital Punjab Vision, to make assistive devices more accessible for persons with disabilities across the province.

Through this initiative, users can now apply online from home for essential mobility and support equipment, including wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs, hearing aids, and mobility aids. Once approved, the selected devices will be delivered directly to the applicant’s doorstep, ensuring ease, transparency, and inclusion.

According to official data, the portal has already received over 38,600 applications, with 11,200 approvals and 7,000 devices delivered across 36 districts.

A spokesperson from the Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Department stated,

“The ADWC platform reflects Punjab’s commitment to digital empowerment and equal access for all citizens, ensuring that technology bridges the gap for persons with disabilities.”

The department has directed all field officers to help register applicants and launch awareness drives to expand outreach across Punjab. The ADWC helpline (1312) and official website are now operational for public assistance.
