Punjab Driving School

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has rolled out a new initiative aimed at improving road safety and reducing accidents across the province. The project includes the launch of Punjab’s first Heavy Vehicles Driving Training School, which is currently under construction at the Manawan Traffic Police Lines.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Usman Anwar visited the facility to review its progress. He was accompanied by senior officers, including CTO Lahore Dr. Athar Waheed, DIG Traffic Punjab Waqas Nazir, DIG SPU Ghazi Salahuddin, and Safe Cities CEO SSP Amara Athar.

The school is designed to provide specialized training for bus, truck, and goods transport drivers. Officials explained that modern technology and advanced driving simulators will be part of the program, ensuring drivers gain hands-on experience.

Certified courses will cover passenger bus operators, heavy vehicle drivers, and goods carriers, with the broader goal of reducing accidents linked to untrained driving.

Training will combine classroom lectures, practical sessions, and traffic law awareness programs. Drivers who complete the tests will receive official certificates, adding credibility to their professional skills. During his inspection, IG Usman Anwar also visited the MT Section, the Integration Center, and other key departments at the Manawan Traffic Lines.
