Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially launched the Digital Traffic E-Challan “One App”, introducing a unified digital platform to strengthen traffic enforcement and improve transparency across the province. The initiative aims to modernize roadside inspections and streamline verification processes through real-time data access.
Under the new system, video evidence of traffic violations will be stored securely in digital format, enabling authorities to verify incidents whenever required. The app is designed to reduce disputes by maintaining documented proof of violations.
Traffic officers will now be able to instantly verify identity cards, driving licenses, and check stolen vehicle records during roadside inspections. Officials say this will significantly speed up enforcement while improving accountability.
The “One App” provides real-time verification of vehicle ownership, fitness certificates, and route permits. By integrating multiple databases into a single platform, the government aims to eliminate manual checks and paperwork.
Authorities stated that the system will allow officers to review e-challan history, FIR status, and even criminal records through the same interface, ensuring more informed and efficient policing.
In addition to handling traffic violations, the app will also facilitate digital action against encroachments and environmental violations. This expanded functionality reflects the government’s broader push toward digitization and governance reform.
The launch of the “One App” aligns with Punjab’s efforts to adopt technology-driven solutions for public service delivery, transparency, and law enforcement efficiency. Officials believe the system will help reduce corruption, improve compliance, and build public trust in traffic management.
