Punjab Opens Applications for 12,500 Teacher Intern Positions
The Punjab government will start accepting applications for 12,500 school teacher interns from November 12, aiming to fill staffing gaps in public schools across the province.
The recruitment drive under the School Teacher Intern (STI) program was initially scheduled for November 10 but was delayed due to incomplete SOPs in the online application system. The initiative provides temporary teaching positions to qualified candidates and addresses long-standing teacher shortages.
Applicants must pay a Rs. 1,000 fee per school and submit their applications online by November 21. The process will be conducted through the official Punjab education portal, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
An education official said,
“This drive is designed to strengthen our public schools by providing qualified teacher interns quickly and efficiently.”
The program not only helps schools manage staffing challenges but also offers a pathway for aspiring teachers to gain professional experience. Authorities encourage eligible candidates to apply promptly to avoid missing the deadline.
