Punjab Orders Stricter Security Measures in All Schools

The Punjab School Education Department has ordered all public and private schools in the province to immediately tighten security, directing administrators to strictly follow official safety protocols. The notification states that school heads will be held personally responsible for ensuring the safety of students and staff.

The directive comes amid increasing concerns over school safety and the need to ensure uniform, high-level security across educational institutions. The government has been pushing for stronger oversight, especially in campuses with large student populations or open access points.

According to the notification, a comprehensive security audit of every school must be conducted without delay, and any weakness identified during inspections must be fixed on priority. Field officers have also been instructed to carry out daily monitoring visits to verify compliance.

Special instructions have been sent to the principals of Daanish Schools and Cadet Colleges, stressing enhanced vigilance and adherence to all safety SOPs.

Officials said the goal is to ensure that every campus maintains a secure environment.

“No compromise will be tolerated on school safety,” the department noted in its guidance.

The move aligns with Punjab’s ongoing efforts to strengthen campus security, especially after recent reviews showed gaps in surveillance, entry-point monitoring, and emergency readiness. The government aims to bring all institutions urban or rural under one strict standard of safety compliance.
