Lahore: The Punjab School Education Department has granted a special exemption to government school teachers, allowing them a weekly Saturday holiday for the duration of Ramzan. The official notification announces a decision that is intended to provide some relief to teachers observing the holy month Ramzan.
The temporary work arrangement will commence on the 30th day of Ramzan, and instructors will subsequently resume their standard work hours. This decision will offer alleviation benefits to the 300,000 teachers in Punjab.
Last year, the department eliminated Saturday as a holiday, mandating that instructors remain at their stations to complete academic and administrative responsibilities. However, in light of Ramzan, the decision has been temporarily reversed.
In addition to the weekly holiday, the Punjab government has also modified school hours to accommodate fasting students and staff.
The recently implemented schedule aims to achieve a harmonious balance between academic operations and staff relief by establishing practical work arrangements for the fasting month.
In order to prevent significant disruptions to student education during the month of Ramzan, officials in education departments encourage the comprehensive implementation of changes at schools.
