The Punjab government has directed all public and private schools across the province to remain closed until August 24, warning school administrations against reopening before the officially notified date.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat issued the directive, reminding schools to strictly follow the government’s summer vacation schedule and avoid resuming academic activities before the scheduled reopening date.
The minister said the instructions apply to both government and private educational institutions across Punjab. Schools that reopen before August 24 have been advised to ensure compliance with the officially announced summer holidays.
Rana Sikandar Hayat said the Punjab government had allocated one complete month of the summer break for remedial learning camps aimed at helping students recover from learning gaps.
These camps were introduced to address learning loss and improve students’ academic performance before the beginning of the new academic term.
The minister urged school administrations to cooperate with the government and ensure that students receive the full summer break as notified.
Parents and students across Punjab have consequently been advised to follow the official schedule, with August 24 set as the earliest reopening date for schools.
