The Punjab government is set to provide artificial intelligence training to 160,000 teachers under its AI Curriculum and Training Initiative, with the program aimed at strengthening AI skills across the province’s education sector.
Punjab Chief Minister’s Advisor on AI and Initiative Ali Dar announced the initiative while addressing participants at its launch ceremony. He said thousands of students would also benefit from AI training, while equipping teachers with modern AI skills would help promote the technology across Punjab.
Ali Dar said the initiative aims to introduce AI into the education curriculum and train teachers according to the latest standards. He expressed hope that Punjab’s AI-focused educational syllabus would create better learning and career opportunities for students in the future.
The launch ceremony brought together representatives from the School Education Department, PECTAA, PMIU-PESRP, UNICEF and the Office of AI to discuss changes in teaching and learning driven by artificial intelligence.
The initiative is expected to expand AI-related training for teachers and students as Punjab moves toward integrating emerging technologies into its education system.
