In a major step toward promoting digital literacy, Punjab University’s Career Development Center (CDC) has introduced free online Python programming classes in collaboration with iCodeGuru. The initiative aims to help students and faculty gain essential coding skills through hands-on, practical training.

As Pakistan pushes forward in digital transformation and youth skill development, universities are increasingly adopting programs focused on coding, AI, and data science. Python  widely used in data analysis, AI, machine learning, and web development  remains a key language for both academic and professional growth.

The free Python course has already received over 2,000 student registrations, with several faculty members also participating to enhance their programming knowledge.

The sessions, led by professional instructors from iCodeGuru, focus on real-world coding tasks, interactive projects, and practical exercises, ensuring participants gain valuable hands-on experience.

Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, Director of ORIC, highlighted the collaborative effort, stating:

“This initiative reflects our mission to provide technology-driven learning opportunities for students and educators to thrive in the digital economy.”

The move aligns with Punjab University’s broader vision of empowering the youth with digital competencies to meet global job market demands. It also supports national efforts to promote tech-based education and bridge the digital skills gap in Pakistan.
