In a major academic milestone, Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, has signed a landmark research and innovation agreement with the University of Cambridge to enhance collaboration in cutting-edge scientific fields, including materials science, clean energy, aerospace, healthcare, and digital technology.
The partnership was formalized during a special ceremony at Cambridge University, attended by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, QAU Vice Chancellor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, and senior Cambridge officials.
Under the first phase, the next 100 days will focus on joint research exchanges, industry linkages, and development projects designed to build the foundation for sustained academic cooperation.
Speaking at the event, Ahsan Iqbal said the collaboration “marks a new chapter in Pakistan’s academic advancement and will help align higher education with global innovation trends.”
Officials added that this initiative highlights Pakistan’s growing commitment to strengthening international research partnerships and promoting scientific excellence.
