Rainbow Six Siege x Metal Gear Solid: Is Solid Snake Finally Joining the Roster?

Published by

Rainbow Six Siege has officially teased a crossover with Metal Gear Solid. Yesterday, January 29, the game’s social media accounts dropped a surprising 15-second trailer. This teaser strongly implies the arrival of Solid Snake.

The Teaser Breakdown

The short clip hits hard with nostalgia. It opens immediately with the iconic Codec radio sound and UI from Metal Gear Solid. Sam Fisher, known in Siege as Operator ‘Zero’, appears urgently on the Codec. He warns:

Our window is closing. We only get one shot at this.

Subsequently, the camera cuts to a smoke-filled room bathed in red lighting. As the music swells, a mysterious figure readies a sidearm. Notably, this figure wears Solid Snake’s famous grey stealth suit.

Reveal Date & Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 Roadmap

Fortunately, fans won’t wait long for answers. The full Metal Gear Solid x Rainbow Six Siege reveal is scheduled for Sunday, February 15. It airs at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 5 PM CET / 9 PM PKT on the official Rainbow Six Twitch channel.

In addition to the crossover, this livestream covers the “Year 11 roadmap”. Viewers will likely see teasers for other Operators and features arriving after the most recent Operator, Denari, who launched back in September 2025.

Rumours: Operator or Skin?

Currently, it is unknown if this is just a cosmetic bundle. Siege has previously featured skins from Halo, Yakuza, and Resident Evil. However, recent leaks suggest something bigger.

Leaker @Shiiny77, corroborated by Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, claims Solid Snake is a fully-fledged Operator. If true, he will release alongside Year 11 Season 1 in March. This would make him the first guest character from a non-Ubisoft IP to join the roster of 76 Operators.

Leaked details include:

  • Codename: ‘Diamond’
  • Weapon: A secondary pistol inspired by the MGS Socom MK23 and MGS V Wu Silent Pistol.
  • Attachments: A suppressor, Acro scope, and a laser aim module resembling the MGS1 design.

Everything hinges on the February 15 reveal. Until then, the speculation continues.
