A newly added Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise representing Rawalpindi has officially announced its team name as ‘Pindies’ ahead of the upcoming 11th edition of the tournament.
The announcement was made through the franchise’s official social media platforms, where a 25-second promotional video was released to introduce the team’s identity.
The video featured well-known landmarks of Rawalpindi and carried a message declaring that the team is fearless, ready to challenge, and determined to bring new passion to the game.
Earlier this month, ahead of the PSL auction, Wali Tech acquired the former Multan Sultans franchise for Rs2.45 billion and initially renamed it Rawalpindi after completing the purchase.
The change followed a decision by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to auction the franchise after former owner Ali Tareen declined to renew the 10-year ownership agreement.
The franchise has also announced that its official team logo will be introduced soon as preparations continue for the new season.
The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League is scheduled to be played from 26 March to 3 May across different cities, while Peshawar is also expected to host a few matches for the first time.
