Rawalpindi Matric Exams Postponed Due To Lack Of Staff

RAWALPINDI: The annual matriculation exams in Rawalpindi Division are set to begin on March 4. However, the process of assigning examination staff and center in-charges has become increasingly difficult due to a lack of cooperation from teachers and school leaders, as well as a general shortage of teaching staff.

This issue is not limited to Rawalpindi alone, as the entire Punjab province is facing growing concerns regarding the smooth conduct of both matriculation and intermediate examinations. The reluctance of teachers to participate in exam-related duties has pushed all nine educational boards in Punjab to urgently seek intervention from the Punjab Ministry of Education.

In response, the Ministry has issued an immediate directive to all 43 district education officers, school heads, and district education authorities across the province. The directive, issued by Section Officer Ahmed Bilal Khan, emphasizes the urgent need to assign teachers to examination duties within 24 hours.

Furthermore, the directive mandates that any government duties assigned to teachers during the exam period be suspended to ensure their availability for exam-related responsibilities. Additionally, it stresses the immediate selection of grading instructors for both matriculation and intermediate examinations to prevent further disruptions.

With exam dates approaching, authorities are under pressure to address the staff shortage swiftly to avoid delays and ensure a smooth examination process for students.
