Realme Neo8 Leak Reveals 8,000 mAh Battery and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

Realme appears ready to move quickly with its next performance phone. A fresh leak from China suggests the Realme Neo8 is already in development, following the Neo7 launch in December of last year.

Although the launch timeline remains unclear, early details point to a major upgrade. The Neo8 is said to pack an 8,000 mAh battery. This marks a clear jump from the Neo7, which shipped with a 7,000 mAh cell. As a result, battery life could become a key selling point.

Meanwhile, the chipset also sees a big shift. The Realme Neo8 is rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. This replaces the Dimensity 9300+ used in the Neo7. The change signals a move to a different silicon partner this year.

In terms of design, Realme seems to be sticking with premium materials. The phone reportedly features a metal frame with glass on both sides. It also includes an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. This is an upgrade over the optical scanner found on the previous model.

Still, durability may get attention as well. The Neo8 is expected to offer very high dust and water resistance. However, it is not yet clear if it will surpass the Neo7 ratings of IP68 and IP69. A jump to IP69K remains possible but unconfirmed. For now, these are all the details available. More information should surface as Realme moves closer to an official reveal.
