South African batter Rilee Rossouw said the Indian Premier League (IPL) carries Bollywood influence, describing it as resembling a movie spectacle rather than pure cricket.
Rossouw contrasted the Pakistan Super League with the IPL, highlighting that PSL focuses directly on cricket competition without external entertainment elements.
He explained that the IPL is a very long tournament, while the PSL offers shorter duration with higher intensity and more competitive matches overall.
It is worth noting that Rilee Rossouw is currently representing Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing eleventh edition of the league, scoring 79 runs in four matches at an average of 19.75.
Overall, the experienced batter has played 29 matches for South Africa, scoring 767 runs at an average of 34.86 and a strike rate of 159.79, including two centuries and three half-centuries.
In their last matches, Quetta Gladiators defeated RawalPindiz by 61 runs, securing victory through Rilee Rossouw’s half‑century and a disciplined collective bowling performance.
RawalPindiz, chasing 184, faltered and managed only 121 in 17.3 overs, with Saad Masood scoring 31, Daryl Mitchell adding 30, and Yasir Khan contributing 22.
Abdullah Fazal scored 20, while other batters failed to reach double figures, leaving the debutants struggling against sustained Gladiators pressure throughout the innings.
Usman Tariq, Jahandad Khan, and captain Saud Shakeel claimed two wickets each, supported by Kashif Bhatti and Abrar Ahmed, who secured one dismissal apiece.
Earlier, Quetta Gladiators posted 182 for six in 20 overs, recovering from a shaky start after losing opener Sam Harper for eight runs.
