Rupee Extends Winning Streak for 37th Day, Records Marginal Rise Against US Dollar
The Pakistani rupee continued its slow but steady upward trend on Monday, marking its 37th consecutive day of gains against the US dollar. Despite the long streak, today’s rise was minimal, with the PKR inching up by one paisa to close at 280.71, reflecting a day-on-day appreciation of 0.004%.
The steady recovery comes as the currency has gained 1.13% so far in the current fiscal year.
An interbank dealer said the movement remains “stable but uneventful,” describing the rupee’s performance as “modest but consistent amid controlled demand.”
Against other major currencies, the PKR stayed mostly positive. It gained 59 paisas against the euro, remained stable against the UAE dirham and Saudi riyal, but slipped against the Australian and Canadian dollars due to global market fluctuations.

The rupee’s gradual stability has been supported by controlled imports, improved sentiment, and better inflow-outflow management, though analysts warn that global volatility may still influence the currency in coming weeks.
