Rupee’s 48 Day Momentum Builds as It Moves Toward a 50 Session Record

The Pakistani rupee strengthened against the US Dollar for the 48th straight session, closing at 280.47 on Tuesday, as it inches closer to completing 50 consecutive days in the green. However, the PKR posted losses against most other major currencies during today’s interbank trading.

The rupee appreciated only 0.001% day on day against the USD, reflecting a stable but modest upward trend. Market analysts say the streak signals improved sentiment and controlled demand, though pressures from other global currencies remain visible.

The PKR lost ground against the Euro, Pound, UAE Dirham, Saudi Riyal, and Canadian Dollar, while gaining slightly against the Australian Dollar. Officials note that mixed currency movement reflects routine global fluctuations rather than domestic instability.
