Saim Ayub Regains Top Spot Ahead of T20 World Cup

Star Pakistani all-rounder Saim Ayub has returned to the top spot in the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings following an impressive performance in the recently concluded series against Australia.

The left-handed batter was the second-highest run-scorer for the home side in the series, scoring 119 runs, including a half-century, finishing just one run behind captain Salman Ali Agha.

The 23-year-old all-rounder also took three wickets across the series, including dismissing Australian hard-hitting batter Travis Head twice in the three-match series at home.

Overall, the stylish batter has represented the Green Shirts in 61 games, scoring a total of 1,228 runs at an average of 21.92 and a strike rate of 135.84, including six half-centuries.

In the bowling department, Saim has taken 24 wickets at an average of 23.83 and an economy rate of 7.15, with his best bowling figures being 3/35.

Meanwhile, Mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed has climbed two spots to reach second place in the T20I bowlers’ rankings, just 28 points behind India’s Varun Chakravarthy, after taking six wickets against Australia.

Another Pakistani spinner Mohammad Nawaz climbed eight places to seventh in the T20I bowling rankings after claiming five wickets in the final match of the series against Australia.

The left-arm spinner also rose to fourth among T20I all-rounders, while teammates Saim Ayub and captain Salman Ali Agha made notable jumps in the latest T20I batting rankings.
