All banks across Pakistan will remain closed on Thursday, February 5, 2026, as the country observes Kashmir Day, following an announcement by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
In a circular issued on Tuesday, the SBP confirmed that the central bank will remain closed on the occasion of Kashmir Day, which has been declared a public holiday by the Government of Pakistan.
“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on Thursday, February 5, 2026, being a public holiday on Kashmir Day,” the central bank said.
The SBP clarified that all commercial banks will also remain closed on the same day. Banking operations, including branch services, will resume from the next working day.
According to the Cabinet Division’s official list of public holidays, February 5 is observed as a nationwide public holiday, with government offices, financial institutions, and the Pakistan Stock Exchange remaining closed.
Kashmir Day is observed annually to express solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Financial markets and government institutions typically suspend operations on the day.
