Schools and colleges across Islamabad resumed their regular operating hours on Monday as the winter schedule officially came to an end.
Both public and private educational institutions in the Islamabad Capital Territory have returned to their standard morning opening and closing times, following several weeks of adjusted hours introduced during the colder months.
The winter timings were implemented in early December to ease the daily routine for students, particularly during harsh morning temperatures. The schedule remained in effect until January 31, 2026, allowing schools to start later in the day when mornings were at their coldest.
According to officials, the decision to restore normal timings was made after weather conditions improved and daylight hours increased. Authorities noted that the change supports smoother academic routines, better attendance, and uninterrupted classroom activities.
Educational regulators also confirmed that schools and colleges had already notified parents and students about the revised timings through digital platforms, ensuring a smooth transition back to regular schedules.
