Schools in the federal capital are set to reopen from April 1, bringing students back to classrooms after weeks of closure linked to the ongoing fuel crisis and government austerity measures.
Educational institutions in Islamabad had been shut down as part of nationwide steps aimed at reducing fuel consumption amid rising global oil prices and regional tensions. During this period, many institutions either paused academic activity or shifted partially to online learning.
With the scheduled reopening now confirmed, schools are expected to resume regular in-person classes. Authorities have also discouraged reliance on hybrid or online systems, encouraging students to return fully to classrooms.
The closure, which lasted through March, was part of broader efforts introduced by the government to manage energy shortages and ease economic pressure.
