The district administration of Mansehra has announced a three-day closure of all public and private schools in connection with the NA-18 by election. The holidays, scheduled for November 22, 23, and 24, come as part of security and administrative measures to ensure the election process on November 23 proceeds smoothly and safely.
The decision follows the district’s preparations for the upcoming by poll, where authorities aim to avoid any disturbance around polling stations. Officials stated that suspending classes will help manage crowd movement, reduce traffic around sensitive areas, and allow school buildings often used as polling stations to be fully available for election duties.
“These measures are necessary to maintain public safety and support the election arrangements,” district officials said.
The announcement also comes at a time when different provinces are finalizing winter break schedules. In Balochistan’s colder districts, schools will shut down for nearly two and a half months from December 16 due to severe weather conditions. Punjab has also confirmed its winter vacation schedule from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026, with schools reopening on January 12.
This coordinated set of closures across the country highlights how both election activity and seasonal weather patterns are shaping academic schedules as the year comes to an end.
