Senate Committee Summons It Ministry Over Former Pak Data Com Ceo Allegations

The Senate Standing Committee on IT and Telecom convened a session to examine allegations of misconduct raised by Brigadier (Rtd) Zulfiqar, former CEO of Pak Data Com, a subsidiary of the Ministry of IT.

Brigadier Zulfiqar claimed that during his tenure as CEO, he was subjected to unfair treatment and forced leave by the company’s board and the ministry. He alleged that he had removed certain disruptive elements from the organization, only to face threats of reinstating them against his will.

Highlighting his achievements, Zulfiqar stated that under his leadership, Pak Data Com became the second-ranked IT company among 16 listed companies in Pakistan, thanks to his efforts and management. He emphasized that in his entire military career, he never faced such threats or humiliation.

Senator Afnan Ullah urged the IT Ministry to respond to the allegations. Ministry officials requested additional time to prepare a detailed briefing, which the committee has formally scheduled for the next session.

The Chairperson of the Senate Committee confirmed that a full briefing from the Ministry of IT and Telecom would be presented in the upcoming meeting to address the former CEO’s complaints.
