Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) announced a major operational shift today. The facility has successfully transitioned into Pakistan’s second international airport to operate on a cashless payment system. This milestone was achieved in coordination with Meezan Bank.
With this new implementation, cash is no longer king at SIAL. All financial transactions within the airport will now run through digital channels. This extensive coverage includes counters, concessions, and lounges. Furthermore, the parking and retail areas have also adopted the new system. The administration aims to ensure efficiency and convenience for passengers, business partners, and stakeholders alike.
The leadership at SIAL views this as more than a technical upgrade. Chairman SIAL, Hassan Ali Bhatti, noted that this initiative strengthens modern airport operations. He described the cashless shift as a crucial investment in customer ease, financial accountability, and operational excellence.
Vice Chairman SIAL, Waqas Afzal, supported this view. He stated that the transition reaffirms the airport’s commitment to digital transformation. Moreover, this move positions the airport among the country’s aviation industry leaders who are currently adopting progressive reforms.
Looking ahead, the administration plans to keep pushing boundaries. CEO SIAL AVM Tanweer Ashraf Bhatti (R) stated that the Sialkot International Airport (SIAL) will continue to collaborate with regulatory bodies. Their goal is to expand digital accessibility further and elevate the travel experience for millions of passengers in the coming years.
