Sindh Approves 8,049 New School Posts for 2026

The Sindh government has approved the creation of 8,049 new positions in the School Education and Literacy Department for the 2026 academic year, aiming to strengthen school leadership and improve administrative efficiency across the province. The decision was formally communicated through an official approval letter, marking a major step in ongoing education sector reforms.
Sindh’s education system has faced long-standing challenges related to school management, monitoring, and academic oversight. To address these gaps, the Sindh Education Department has been introducing administrative reforms over recent years, focusing on improving leadership at government schools. The newly approved posts are part of this broader strategy to ensure better governance and accountability at the school level ahead of the 2026 session.
According to officials, the sanctioned strength includes senior leadership and head positions across multiple grades. These posts range from BS-17 to BS-20, covering Chief Head Masters/Head Mistresses, Senior Head Masters/Head Mistresses, and Head Masters/Head Mistresses.

An official from the department stated that the move is intended to “enhance school leadership, strengthen administrative oversight, and improve academic management across Sindh.”

Education authorities believe the new appointments will help reduce the administrative burden on existing staff and improve decision-making at schools, especially in underserved areas.
With thousands of new leadership positions approved, the reform is expected to improve school discipline, teacher supervision, and overall learning outcomes. The initiative also opens up significant employment opportunities for qualified education professionals in Sindh, aligning with the government’s goal of systemic improvement rather than short-term fixes.
