The Sindh Education Department has officially announced the dates for the 2026 matriculation and intermediate board examinations. Classes IX and X students will begin their matric exams on March 31 after Eid, while intermediate exams are scheduled to start on April 15. The new academic session for 2026–27 will commence from April 1, as decided by the Steering Committee chaired by Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah.
According to officials, matric results will be released on June 1, followed by intermediate results on June 15. Summer vacations will remain from June 1 to July 31, and winter breaks from December 22 to December 31. Any revisions to the winter schedule will require further discussion in April.
The Uniform Examination Syllabus, initially planned for 2026, has been postponed. It will now be implemented for classes IX and X from the 2027 examinations, giving schools and students additional time to prepare.
The decision to maintain the current holiday schedule came after consultations with various school representatives. Cambridge schools opposed changes to the winter calendar, citing alignment with international academic schedules. The Steering Committee respected these concerns and retained the existing schedule.
Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah stated, “Our goal is to ensure a smooth academic year while keeping students and schools aligned with proper timelines.”
