The Government of Sindh has officially changed the upcoming board exam schedule. Specifically, authorities have directed all educational boards across the province to avoid scheduling examinations during Holy Week and Easter. Therefore, boards must temporarily adjust the existing exam calendar.
Yesterday, on February 23, 2026, the Universities and Boards Department issued a formal notification. The department instructed the chairmen of all educational boards to clear the early April window. Consequently, boards cannot hold any examination papers from April 2 to April 6, 2026.
Furthermore, the department ordered boards to revise any previously announced timetables. Boards must also submit compliance reports on an urgent basis. Afterward, authorities have allowed examinations to resume from April 7 onward. Ultimately, this new directive follows explicit instructions from the Chief Minister of Sindh.
Previously, the Sindh Education Department’s Steering Committee finalized the board exam schedule. Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah chaired that specific meeting. Under the originally approved plan, annual matriculation examinations for Classes IX and X will start on March 31, 2026, immediately after Eid. Meanwhile, intermediate examinations are set to begin on April 15, 2026.
