Sindh Extends Agricultural Income Tax Return Deadline

The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has extended the Agricultural Income Tax return filing deadline to October 31, following the approval of the provincial government. The original deadline was set for September 30.

According to the SRB, the extension aims to provide relief and additional time to taxpayers for submitting their Agricultural Income Tax returns. To facilitate the process, an online return form has been made available. However, officials warned that taxpayers failing to meet the new deadline could face penalties and legal action.

The Sindh cabinet passed the Agricultural Income Tax Bill 2025 earlier this year, which came into effect in January. Under the new law, the responsibility for collecting agricultural income tax was transferred from the Board of Revenue (BoR) to the Sindh Revenue Board.

The law also specifies that livestock remains exempt from taxation. Additionally, farmers earning up to Rs150 million per year are not required to pay any Agricultural Income Tax.

Officials said the extension is intended to streamline compliance and ensure smooth implementation of the province’s revised agricultural tax framework.
