The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has officially extended the revised winter school schedule. Educational institutions across the province will now follow the adjusted timings until February 4. This decision comes as a direct response to the intensifying cold spell gripping the region.
Previously, the department had set the winter schedule to end today, January 26. However, persistent cold weather conditions necessitated an immediate extension to ensure student safety.
Under this directive, all public and private schools in Sindh will continue to commence classes at 09:00 AM. Dismissal times remain unchanged. The government originally implemented this revised schedule on January 10 to mitigate the impact of the harsh weather on students and staff.
A spokesperson for the education department confirmed that the extension applies to all schools under the provincial body’s administrative control. Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah issued the directives personally, prioritising the well-being of students as temperatures continue to drop in various parts of the province.
