Sindh Govt Grants Extra Marks to Applicants for Grade 5–15 Vacancies

The Sindh government has moved ahead with a new hiring policy that gives applicants a small but notable advantage. Officials confirmed on Thursday that candidates applying for Grade 5 to Grade 15 positions will now receive five extra marks if they meet the required academic threshold.

A formal notification states that the Departmental Selection Committee can award these additional marks to any applicant securing at least 50 percent in aggregate. The same benefit also extends to intermediate-pass candidates appearing in recruitment tests.

The government has also directed IBA Sukkur to integrate the extra marks into all tests it conducts. This requirement is significant because IBA Sukkur manages major recruitment assessments for provincial departments. The order was issued by the Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department and signed by Section Officer V. Sanaullah Qazi.

Officials familiar with the development say the new policy is designed to strengthen merit-based hiring and ensure consistent evaluation across Sindh. They believe the move will help standardize recruitment practices and offer a clearer path for qualified candidates.
